Choosing an Instrument
Learning music is fun, and some children enjoy the social
activity of music making without ever moving onto an instrument any
more sophisticated than a recorder. Some, however, will want to
dedicate themselves to a particular instrument, and their good
initial grounding in theory both allows them to make the right
choice (whether the preference is for blowing, bowing or tapping)
and to make quick progress when they do.
This section outlines available instruments, where they can be
purchased, and approximate costs. The section 'teachers'
provides a list of recommended teachers for various types of
instrument.
